Job Overview
- Responsible for safeguarding NESCO’s digital infrastructure by monitoring vulnerabilities, investigating security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific security standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Officer shall therefore be responsible, but not limited, for the following:
- Design and enforce robust cybersecurity policies, procedures, and industry-specific best practices for NESCO
- Integrate security protocols seamlessly into the organization’s IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems
- Assess, select, and implement advanced cybersecurity tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance protection
- Continuously monitor networks, systems, and applications to detect and address potential vulnerabilities and threats
- Respond to cybersecurity incidents with urgency, conducting investigations and ensuring timely resolution and reporting
- Analyze the root causes of security breaches and provide actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence
- Ensure adherence to relevant cybersecurity regulations, standards, and frameworks
- Analyze and assess risks related to hardware, software, and operational processes
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management plan to mitigate identified vulnerabilities
- Prepare periodic reports for the attention of the Lead, IT
- Perform any other tasks as assigned from time to time by Lead, IT
Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- First degree (B.SC) or H.N.D + PGD and Masters in the same field in in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in Cybersecurity
Attributes and Competencies
- Strong understanding of SCADA systems, industrial control systems (ICS), and energy sector technologies
- Proficiency in cybersecurity tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and SIEM platforms
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks like NIST, CIS Controls, and COBIT
