Overall Purpose of Job
- Assist in administering and improving the company’s quality, Health, Safety, and Environment management programmes in accordance with best practices in the Oil and Gas Sector and International QHSE requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in QHSE supervision for all projects including that of contractors
- Monitoring compliance with the company QHSE procedures
- Assessing work – related risks and ensuring that mitigation actions are implemented
- Ensure that all work environments are QHSE compliant
- Assist in improving the level of awareness and conformance to QHSE and Security standards by staff through effective trainings and communication.
- Stop any activity that is a threat to the personnel and public’s health and safety
- Assist in QHSE audits at project sites ensuring identified actions are taken
- Assist in QHSE in-house audits and inspections to assess company compliance with QHSE plan and follow up to ensure action items are closed out
- Report all safety acts worthy of emulation and announcement
- Assist int the monthly QHSE meetings and follow up action items
- Assist in calibration of equipment
Person Specification & Required Competencies
- A minimum of first degree with 3 years working experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in a similar role.
- Valid QHSE Certifications – ISPoN, or NEBOSH, or, ISO 45001: 2018 internal Auditors certifications etc.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools.
- Very sound written, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to implement and monitor QHSE management systems
- Must be computer literate, and have the ability to manage the company’s QHSE database
- A team player
- Should be a quick thinker and respond quickly to any emergency situation
- Customer service oriented.
