Job overview
- To monitor, analyze, and optimize the DRI plant process parameters to achieve stable operation, improved efficiency, and consistent product quality while minimizing energy consumption and downtime.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control process variables such as temperature, gas flow, pressure, and metallization rate.
- Analyze process data and recommend adjustments to improve production performance and reduce fuel consumption.
- Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams to ensure smooth and safe operation.
- Conduct process trials and performance studies to enhance plant output and quality.
- Support troubleshooting during process upsets and participate in root cause analysis.
- Assist in implementing new process control systems, modifications, and improvement projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in process engineering or plant operations in a DRI, Steel, or similar process industry.
- Strong understanding of DRI process chemistry, heat and mass balance, and gas-based reduction systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, DCS/SCADA systems, and MS Office.
