Job overview
- As the Lead, Scrum Master & Process Optimisation, you will coach agile teams, drive sprint discipline, and deliver effective backlog management for the strategic consulting project.
- You will collaborate with business and technical leaders to maximise project velocity and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Serve as chief Scrum Master across strategic workstreams, facilitating sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach and mentor teams on agile frameworks, empowering self-organisation and continuous improvement.
- Identify, document, and eliminate process bottlenecks to optimise project throughput and operational effectiveness.
- Implement process automation tools, dashboards, and analytics to enhance transparency, velocity, and forecasting.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to prioritise and refine backlogs aligned to project objectives.
- Establish effective practices for documentation, communication, and workflow optimisation.
- Drive disciplined execution – monitor task completion, remove obstacles, and celebrate team achievements.
- Report on key agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time) and propose data-driven improvements.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, psychological safety, and innovation across all teams.
Educational Requirements
- A degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM)) is required. A postgraduate degree is an added advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
- At least 10 years experience in project delivery and process management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (e.g., Lead Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Head of Agile Delivery).
- Deeply certified and practiced Scrum Master (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, PSM II/III, CSP-SM, or SAFe SM). You have battle-tested experience in scaling Agile and managing complex dependencies between multiple teams.
- Power user of Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, ADO). You don’t just use them; you configure them to provide perfect transparency and actionable data.
- Track record of coaching teams to deliver complex, multi-phase projects with disciplined execution.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and conflict management skills.
- Proficient in process mapping, workflow automation, and change enablement.
- Excellent communicator with proven ability to build consensus, motivate diverse teams, and resolve challenges swiftly.
- Demonstrated focus on value delivery, continuous improvement, and high-performance outcomes.
