Job overview 

  • We are looking for an experienced MS Windows/Redhat OS Administrator to join our team in Nigeria.
  • This role is essential for maintaining and managing our Windows and RedHat operating systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability within our IT environment.

 Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Windows and Redhat operating systems in a multi-server environment.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes to optimize server and application performance.
  • Conduct system backups, disaster recovery testing, and ensure data integrity through planned recovery procedures.
  • Implement and enforce security measures including user account management, permissions, and security policies.
  • Manage software installations, upgrades, and patches for Windows and Redhat environments.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and management of system architecture and infrastructure changes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT departments regarding OS-related issues.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and policies related to Windows and Redhat administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an OS Administrator with a focus on Windows Server and Redhat Linux.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Linux shell scripting.
  • Experience with server security practices and system vulnerability management.
  • Proficiency in system monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within teams.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator or Red Hat Certified System Administrator, are an advantage.
