Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce all security procedures and policies as mandated by the National Key Points Act and specific site security plans.
- Conduct regular patrols of the NKP perimeter and internal areas, identifying and reporting any security breaches, vulnerabilities, or suspicious activities.
- Monitor and operate surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, access control systems) and promptly respond to any alerts or incidents.
- Control access to the NKP, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles are granted entry and exit, adhering to strict verification protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all security-related activities, incidents, patrols, and visitors.
- Conduct thorough searches of individuals, vehicles, and packages as required by security protocols.
- Respond to and manage emergency situations, including fire, medical emergencies, and security threats, in accordance with established procedures.
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies and other emergency services during incidents or as required.
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- National Keypoint Course Report
- PSIRA Grade C
- Firearm competency
Skills
- Thorough understanding of the National Key Points Act 102 of 1980 and related regulations.
- Proficiency in security procedures, access control, and incident management.
- Ability to operate CCTV, alarm systems, and other security technology.
- Excellent observation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Valid firearm competency certificate .
