We are a multi-specialist boutique surgical private hospital in Parklands, Nairobi. We cater for all levels of surgery including advanced surgeries requiring ICU & HDU setup and care. The need for such a specialist hospital arises from advanced health care gaps in Kenya and in wider East Africa and Central Africa regions.

Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced and compassionate NICU & Nursery Nurses to join our neonatal care team. The successful candidates will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns, ensuring safe, high-quality, and family-centered care within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Job Description 

  • Provide direct nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in NICU.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and operate specialized neonatal equipment such as ventilators and incubators.
  • Provide direct care to neonates in the nursery and NHDU.
  • Assist doctors and specialists in neonatal procedures and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure effective communication during patient handovers.
  • Support family-centered care by educating and guiding parents on newborn care.
  • Uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital protocols.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement and training activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma- KRCHN, KRN/KRM or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
  • Higher Diploma or training in Neonatal Nursing / Critical Care is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in NICU or neonatal care in a hospital setting.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong clinical knowledge of neonatal and critical care practices.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshootneonatal monitoring and life-support equipment.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-family interaction skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and resilience in caring for newborns and supporting families.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
