Job Summary

• The Operations and IT Manager is to ensure the efficient and secure running of daily operations and technology infrastructure of the BDC.
• The role includes oversight of transaction processing, vault operations, IT systems, and data security.
• As a joint custodian of the vault, the candidate must demonstrate unwavering integrity, accuracy, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operational processes including transaction management, vault balancing, and documentation.
• Ensure timely execution of foreign exchange sales and purchases in line with CBN regulations.
• Develop and implement operational procedures that ensure control, speed, and accuracy.
• Monitor teller activities, customer transactions, and internal workflows.
• Serve as joint custodian of the BDC’s vault, with responsibility for access, security, and controls.
• Maintain vault integrity through daily balancing, dual control protocols, and CCTV monitoring.
• Ensure accurate logging and reconciliation of all forex movements (inflows/outflows).
• Investigate and immediately report cash discrepancies or procedural breaches.
• Manage IT infrastructure including POS, data backups, FX transaction platforms, and system access.
• Ensure continuous uptime and performance of BDC software and electronic recordkeeping tools.
• Enforce cybersecurity measures, firewall management, and data privacy protocols.
• Liaise with external IT vendors and ensure software updates, upgrades, and issue resolution.
• Ensure all operational activities meet CBN, EFCC, and NFIU requirements.
• Prepare and maintain operational logs, system access trails, and data backups for audit purposes.
• Support the Compliance and Finance teams with audit trails and data for reporting.
• Train and supervise operational staff and ensure adherence to internal procedures.
• Identify gaps in service or systems and recommend improvement strategies.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of operational and IT records.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a BSc. Or HND degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISA, CISSP, or Microsoft/Cisco) are an advantage.
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in operations or IT roles, preferably within financial services or BDCs.
• Experience with vault management, digital FX systems, or treasury platforms is a strong asset.
• High level of personal and financial integrity
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and disciplined in handling cash and sensitive data
• Strong IT troubleshooting and systems management skills
• Solid understanding of BDC operations and regulatory landscape
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to handle confidential information and adhere to dual custody policies
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and IT support tools
• Must pass background checks
• Strong risk awareness and adherence to physical and digital security policies
