Job  overview 

  • We are recruiting a highly skilled Senior Cloud Fleet Management System Engineer (AWS Expert) to deliver a full-scale Fleet Management System using modern cloud technologies.
  • This role supports a major utility contract and requires deep experience in AWS, system integration, fleet data automation, and enterprise-level reporting workflows. The successful candidate must operate independently with minimal supervision..

Responsibilities
AWS Architecture & Cloud Platform Engineering:

  • Design, deploy and maintain a multi-tier cloud-based Fleet Management System on AWS

Implement secure cloud architecture using:

  • AWS Lambda (Python/Node.js)
  • Amazon API Gateway
  • Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) or DynamoDB
  • Amazon S3 for secure document and data storage
  • IAM (RBAC, policies, permission boundaries)
  • AWS KMS for data encryption
  • Amazon CloudWatch & CloudTrail for monitoring, auditing and compliance
  • AWS DMS for data migration from legacy fleet platforms
  • AWS Step Functions for workflow automation
  • Amazon QuickSight for dashboards and performance reports

Data Migration & Data Engineering:
Lead full-scale migration of legacy fleet data into AWS
Build automated ETL/ELT pipelines for:

  • Assets (LCVs, HGVs, plant, machinery, equipment)
  • Driver profiles & operator licensing
  • Maintenance histories
  • Accident/incident records
  • Telematics data and DVSA/VVR integration
  • Manage bulk upload tools using JSON, XML, CSV templates

Fleet Operations & Compliance Automation:

  • Implement automated workflows for:
  • Scheduled maintenance based on asset type/category
  • Off-road status reporting (OOR/Defect reporting)
  • Forward Maintenance Planner (12-month rolling plan)
  • Asset file compliance validation
  • DVSA “Earned Recognition” reporting
  • Configure user/department structures to reflect large enterprise models
  • Build custom reports for:
    • Transactions
    • Recharges
    • Period-end accounting
    • Compliance dashboards

Systems Integration (API & Interoperability):
Develop and consume REST APIs and Web Service APIs including:

  • Vehicle telematics providers
  • DVSA & VVR integration
  • Smartsheet
  • DTM
  • Third-party fleet suppliers
  • Build automated appointment scheduling APIs
  • Enable inter-system communication across multiple departments

Monitoring, Security & Audit:
Configure CloudWatch dashboards for:

  • Performance
  • Error tracking
  • Event-driven diagnostics
  • Implement CloudTrail governance logs and enterprise audit trails
  • Ensure alignment with:
    • ISO 27001
    • NCSC Cloud Security Principles
    • Data protection & compliance requirements

Documentation & Independent Delivery:

  • Produce architecture diagrams, technical documentation and process flows
  • Deliver end-to-end solutions with no supervision
  • Track activities, manage change logs, and maintain accurate system records

Fleet Management Domain Knowledge:

  • Operator licensing
  • Maintenance scheduling
  • Accident & incident workflows
  • Forward maintenance planning
  • DVSA Earned Recognition
  • Procurement, cost allocation, and supplier tracking

Tools & Platforms:

  • Smartsheet
  • Telematics APIs
  • DVSA/VVR services
  • Microsoft 365/SharePoint
  • Jira or similar ticketing tools
  • Git/GitHub
  • CI/CD understanding (CodePipeline preferred)

Required Certifications (Must Have / Strong Advantage):

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty (strong advantage)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation (advantage)
  • DVSA Earned Recognition exposure is a major plus

Experience Requirements

  • 5–7 years hands-on AWS engineering
  • Experience building enterprise systems independently
  • Experience implementing cloud-based fleet or asset management systems
  • Strong knowledge of UK or international fleet compliance is an advantage
  • Experience handling large operational datasets.

Remuneration

  • N500,000 Monthly Salary
  • N50,000 Monthly Allowance (Broadband, Electricity, Stationery)
  • Total: N550,000 Monthly (All-Inclusive).
